About us
The information website www.vsskursove.com was created by Filip Silov — a former long-serving water lifeguard, now a computer specialist and a volunteer on the disaster, accident and emergency response team of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Varna. The site is built entirely voluntarily and free of charge, to support the Water Rescue department of the BRC Regional Council — Varna, and is maintained at its creator's own expense.
What the site offers
- Location, opening hours and phone number of the Water Rescue department, plus a contact form for questions.
- An online form to register for a water-rescue course — saving an in-person visit for the initial contact.
- Up-to-date information on fees and the schedule for annual renewal of the personal water-rescue licence.
- Detailed requirements and entrance/final exam content for every course.
- A gallery of photos and videos from water-rescue demonstrations.
Purpose of the site
- Inform active lifeguards about the annual licence-renewal fees and the process for a lost qualification document.
- Introduce prospective course applicants to what each course includes, its duration, and where theory and practice take place.
- Give enrolled trainees direct access to each course's programme and exam syllabus.
Note: some of the historical links to course syllabi (PDF/DOC) on the previous site no longer work, as they were hosted on an outdated Dropbox account. The documents will be re-uploaded and published directly on this site.
